David Marsh M.Ed, MHC
David Marsh is a Mental Performance Coach with strength and conditioning, mental health counseling, and youth development background. He received his Master’s degree in Counseling and Sport and Performance Psychology (M.Ed.) from Boston University and his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Anna Maria College. There he was also a two-sport varsity athlete where he later served as an assistant coach for men's lacrosse. Marsh later went on to become an IBLA National Champion while playing for the Cambridge Nor’easters. David was also a professional tap dancer who started dancing at the age of 4 with The Roxbury Center for Performing Arts and then later moved on to dance with the Boston Tap Company. These experiences allow David to bring a unique and robust understanding of the mental aspects to the mental side optimal peak performing.
David devotes his time to working with athletes, coaches, and other performers of various skill levels. He enjoys working with youth sports organizations and believes that fortifying communities around youth is crucial. Taking a holistic approach important and he believes in the development of athletes as people first which is why you will find personal and social responsibility principles woven into the fabric of Spiked Performance Consulting.
Over the last few years his focus has been on Mental Health Counselor that has a strong foundation in crisis prevention and management. David spent his earlier career development working as a counselor, peer counselor and coach at youth lacrosse camps. David also enjoyed volunteering with Sole Train, a Boston-based running program for youth in Boston Public Schools. Having grown up in Mattapan, a part of Boston, MA, has given him a resilience that he hopes to instill in every person SPC serves.
